Do You Take Time To Notice, Act And Choose?

As humans we are drawn to the comfort of the familiar, the things we know, the things that make us feel safe on some level. Whether that's food, habits, or routine, the familiarity gives a sense of security. There are times when we may not like something, yet we will continue to do the same, even if it causes pain, simply because the thought of doing something different creates its own type of pain.

Whenever there is disruption to the routine, we can expect our minds to feel a little anxiety and overwhelm start to creep in. We become too comfortable sitting in the comfort zone that has developed over time and allow the continuation of certain behaviours to strengthen. These repeated behaviours support our beliefs around those behaviours.

Henry Ford said " If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've already got."

In challenging these behaviours, three great questions to ask yourself are:

1. "Are you happy with where you are right now?"

2. Going forward 12 months, 5 years, 10 years, will you be happy with your life if you continue doing what you're doing now? How does it look?

3. If you could change ONE thing that would create more happiness, joy, and freedom in your life right NOW, what would it be?

Anytime you find yourself constantly complaining, getting frustrated, feeling overwhelmed, or a need to control everything, you can be guaranteed that is the time you need to take a step back and re-assess.

Continuing with behaviours and routines that bring more stress than joy will lead you on a fast track to burnout and misery ... and that's no fun for anyone.

Ask yourself the three questions above. Be brutally honest with yourself, be truthful and authentic with your answers. When you've completed your answers and have your "ONE" thing, then ask yourself...

'If I make this change now, what will it give me, and how will if feel?'

This will give you a clear reason as to 'WHY' this is important, and the associated FEELING creates an emotional connection to the change, and ultimately the reward of it. Now, how committed to doing that one thing are you?

Change can be scary, unfamiliar and uncertain, and I can guarantee you will falter at some point. Your 'ego' will do its very best to convince you to stay where you are doing the same old thing. Here's the thing, you've already made the decision that you need to let go of what you want to change. And you've now got a clear picture of how your future will look in making that change.

The choice is yours. Choose, act and notice the change. Whatever comes up Keep Going!

It's time to take back the power and work towards the person you were meant to be.
